Bill Wright, Pastor/Leader Among Texas baptist Christians, dies on Friday, 2/19/10

Bill Wright exited this world on Friday evening, late. He and Linda had served churches in Texas and New Mexico as pastor and first family for decades. There will be other, more eloquent tributes to Bill. Here at aintsoabad, I have spent some time eulogizing him while he was alive and could read it for himself.

Suffice it to say, a great voice has now gone still. We will need several to step up just to fill the gap his passing leaves us. Our prayers and our good thoughts now attend his family and close friends, as well as his church family.

Adios, Bill. We shall not see your kind again soon.

Opinions expressed here are my own, not those of the church I serve or any other person.

  1. Rick,
Bill Wright became a friend to me during ValleyGate. It is a shame that more people do not know just how much he did to try and save the BGCT before Wade and those he left in power ruined it. He will be missed.
He was more Mr. Texas Baptist in his little finger than Wade was his whole life.
