Slough of Despond: Associated Slander Press (ASP)-
Archaeologists working a dig in the Valley of Sin, just south of the Slough of Despond, unearthed a collection of sealed jars this week. Some appeared to be ancient chamber pots. Others contained worse material, in the form of scrolls recording the inner thoughts of Early Church leadership (second generation) about the militant missionary reformer, Saul of Tarsus (Paul).
"I have never seen anything so filthy," said Passio Courage, lead archaeologist on the dig before dropping his clothes in the Haz-Mat Vat and entering a De-Con Shower.
"And the stuff in the poopy pots was nasty too."
"I am glad they sealed up this stuff and put it in the latrine," Sophia Wisdom, chief translator told aintsobad, via an electronic connection from an undisclosed library, believed to in Alexandria, or Peoria, no one can be sure.
"This would have blown the lid right off the early church," Sophia said, absently rubbing her arm downward from elbow to fingertips with anti-bacterial cream after holding the scroll, tentatively called "Codex-RumorMongerous."
By special permission of the discoverers, we start to decode the Gossip Chronicles tomorrow, Monday, July 13, 2009. Remember, more baptists get their (bad) news from Associatecd Slander Press (AsP) than from any other source.
