For decades now I have used the tried and true Bible reading, prayer, devotional reading, prayer and, well you get the idea. For the next little while, a few months or years, who knows how long, I am going to take a Kierkegaardian proposition, such as I understand it, compare and contrast it with what I know of Mr. Lincoln’s thinking on a similar subject and simultaneously take the two to Scripture, but only the Scripture, OT and NT, that passes through the high critical method, which is to say, the testing of language, culture and history. This provide an entire day of conversation with God and, perhaps, something of ministry will come through it all, since ministry is the overflow of one’s devotional life.
Anyway, I want to try it all. This probably will not improve my driving, so beware.
