Imposition 2012-Santorum to Win Tennessee?

Early voting returns indicate Rick Santorum will win the GOP primary in the Volunteer State. He will win by a fairly decent margin, according to the early returns, though any victory would have been considered a signigicant upset. Santorum's ability to raise money and move disappointed the GOP fence sitters into the fray will be considerable if he does indeed win Tennessee.

Santorum is already expected to win Oklahoma. He is giving Romney a run for his money (big, big, big money) in Ohio.

Remember no Republican candiate has ever won the White House without Ohio. Ohio is extremely important. Tennessee is important as well.

Mr. Romney has already won Massachusetts, where he was governor and one of the places he calls his home or native state, along with Michigan and Mexico. He also won Vermont and Virginia, where Santorum did not qualify to be on the battle. It is somewhat difficult to take those states seriously, since the choice was Romney or Stay Home. From the turnout, it appears Stay Home may have been the big winner.

If Mr. Romney has lost Tennessee, it will mean the primary battle goes on for some time to come. If he loses Ohio, the primary contests will be even more divisive and dangerous of Republicans.

The chance for a brokered convention is not yet out of the question, thanks to Tennessee.
