Joshua Owls of the late 1960s and early 1970s will remember Bruce McGill. Bruce died last weekend in his apartment in Ft. Worth. He was 64.
Owls of that era will remember Bruce played running back on the District Championship 1970 team. He was also one of the founding members of the Revelation, a youth singing group. Bruce served in the US Army for years. He was a long haul truck driver after leaving the military.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at the Mt. Valley Funeral Home in Joshua on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. The family will welcome visitors there from 4:00 to 5:00 pm. The memorial service itself will be at 5:00 pm..
The memorial service itself will mostly consist of a eulogy. If you have memories of Bruce we might include in the eulogy, please message me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will include as many of your appropriate memories as possible in the eulogy.
Owls, this has been a tough year. Nick Davis died in July. Earlier this month, Gaye Cain Hampton buried her mom, Patsy. Now Bruce has died. We are just getting to that age, friends. We have to be sure we love on each other while we can, as the sands of this life pour through the gaping mouth of the hour glass. I feel certain there have been other losses I have not mentioned, out of ignorance of the fact. Our love and condolences to all.
Please be in attendance next Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 4 pm for the visitation and 5 pm for the memorial service, if you can.
