The dog days of summer are about to lead up to Rosh HaShana, the New Year, the Feast of Trumpets, the celebration of the creation of Adam and Eve (original man and woman). September 24 to 26 is the observation this year for the beginning of the High Holy Days.
And, with all my love for the Palestinian people and their constant displacement, my thoughts and prayers are on Israel this year. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem; that it will be the Ideal Place for an Ideal People, the place where Messiah would come. I am a realized eschatologist, not a dispensationalist, but the suffering of all persons in the Mid-East makes one heedful of the very real need for the peace of Jerusalem.
So, Ice Buckets and all their good set aside for the moment, let us be challenged, as well, to pray daily for the Peace of Jerusalem. I will pray that way. Will you?
